New UHAS-GRASAG executives sworn into office for 2023/2024

On December 8, 2023, new executives of the UHAS chapter of Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG) were sworn into office for the 2023/2024 academic year. The handing-over ceremony took place via Zoom, and was chaired by the Dr. Martin Ayanore, Head of Graduate Studies at UHAS. The new executives of GRASAG-UHAS, as well as the outgone executives and other members, were all present.

Mr. Franklin Adjato, the outgone GRASAG President, introduced the old and new executives to the house, after which the new executives were sworn into office by His Lordship George Sarpong, Justice of GRASAG-UHAS. Both the previous president and the new president, Mr. Godwin Vechey Adjei, addressed the house.

The Chairperson, Dr. Martin Ayanore, who was appointed as Head of Graduate Studies in August 2023, congratulated the new GRASAG executives. He read to the house portions of the UHAS Fundamental Laws pertaining to his responsibilities as Head of Graduate Studies, and pledged the support of UHAS Management for GRASAG-UHAS. He emphasized some of the collaborative efforts that would be put in place to address the challenges faced by previous executives and plans to be put in place to elevate GRASAG-UHAS to the next level.

Mr. Emmanuel Owusu, GRASAG National President, was the guest for the programme. He congratulated the new executives, stating the plans GRASAG-National has for its members, and encouraging the new executives to strengthen their collaboration and partnerships with GRASAG-National in order to effectively deliver their mandate.

Mr. Felix Torku, Junior Assistant Registrar at the Office of Graduate Studies, was also present. The main conductor for the program was Ms. Demaris Quarm.

The new executives of GRASAG-UHAS for the 2023/2024 academic year are: Godwin Vechey Adjei, President; Micheal Kwabla Odompleh, Vice President; Daniel Kwabla Ahiagbede, General Secretary; Baba Amadu, Treasurer; Priscilla Aku Nuna Dotse, Organizing Secretary; Millicent Edem Suronipa, Women’s Commissioner; and David Naboare, Public Relations Officer.
