UHAS New SRC Executives Met with Senior Management

The new leadership of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) paid a courtesy call on the Senior Management of the University on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 to outline their agenda and discuss emerging student concerns.

The team, which was led by the new SRC President, Master Edward Nyamekye Benevolent, met with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lydia Aziato and the Registrar, Ms. Yaa Amankwaa Opuni.

The visit afforded the new executives the opportunity to introduce themselves to the Senior Management. The executives also seized the opportunity to discuss pertinent issues concerning students’ welfare, academic quality, infrastructure and general students’ leadership expectations.

The Vice Chancellor acknowledged the challenges facing students and assured them of Management’s commitment to surmounting the challenges. “We know the difficulties and we are doing the best we can within the limits of public sector rules.” Prof. Aziato said.

The Vice Chancellor encouraged the student leaders to champion values that reinforce the University’s training standards. She urged students to prioritize practical skill-building, professionalism, clinical exposure, discipline, punctuality, grooming and emerging type of skills including digital literacy and artificial intelligence.

The Registrar reminded the new executives of the fact that student leaders form part of the University’s management ecosystem and therefore share in the responsibility of addressing challenges. She then called on them to be very constructive and innovative in delivering on their mandate.

Also present were the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Judith Torgbor and other senior members of the University.

The visit marked the beginning of the new SRC administration’s engagement with key governance structures as they prepare to represent UHAS students in the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
