PROFILE OF DR. EMMANUEL NEWMAN
Dr. Emmanuel Newman is a professional with expertise in tertiary education planning, management, governance and tertiary education and management information system. He has qualifications in economics of higher education, governance, public policy and educational planning.
Dr. Emmanuel Newman, has attended several institutions of higher education in Ghana and abroad. He attended Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and obtained Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture in 1996. He possess a Master of Science degree in Development Policy and Planning awarded by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, in 20002.
Dr. Emmanuel Newman holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Governance, Public Policy and Democratization, awarded Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, Holland, 2007.
Additionally, Dr. Emmanuel Newman holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Social Sciences (Economics of Higher Education) awarded by the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. Dr. Emmanuel Newman has attended several short courses in leadership, governance and planning and management of tertiary education in Ghana and abroad.
Dr. Emmanuel Newman has since 2011 served as the Head of Planning, Research and Policy Development Department of the National Council for Tertiary Education.
He has served on several boards and committees including the governing Councils of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessments and the Holy Child College of Education. He is a member of the Ghana Commission for UNESCO and the Entity Tender Committee of Takoradi Technical University.
Dr. Newman has consulted for several tertiary education institutions in the area of strategic planning. He has also served as a keynote speaker or speaker at forums organized in Ghana and abroad. Dr.Newman has more than ten publications on polytechnic education, funding, governance and management of tertiary education.
