Dr. Martin Ayanore has been named as one of the recipients of the Fulbright African Research Scholar Program for 2022/2023 year. He will work with health system experts from Harvard University as part of this award for the year 2022/2023, both in Ghana and the United States.
Dr. Ayanore’s research grant will assess health system competence for infant and young child feeding practices in Ghana. The research is expected to contribute to developing a set of measures for infant and young child feeding, identify gaps in health system response to child feeding practices and assess health system competence relevant to the Ghanaian context in relation to child nutrition.
Dr. Martin Ayanore recently placed 8th among the top scientist in UHAS and 118 in Ghana from the AD Scientific Index in the World Scientist and University Rankings 2021. He is a Health Economist and Senior Lecturer with the School of Public Health, UHAS, where he is also Head of the Department of Health Policy Planning and Management.
Fulbright African Research Scholar Program is a global prestigious award offered to university faculty or research institute professionals from Africa to conduct research in any academic discipline at a U.S. academic or research institution. Preference for the award is based on university teaching experience and individuals who have a distinguished research trajectory and scholarly record.
