Professor Eric Woode, who worked extensively for three years as the first Director of the Directorate of Quality Assurance, expressed satisfaction, acknowledging the support of management and the commitment of staff in administrating the directorate, as he handed over to Professor Mahamudu Ayamba Ali on August 1.

Prof. Woode appealed to the new Director of Quality Assurance, Prof. Mahamudu Ayamba Ali, to continue from where he leaves off, including following-up on a quality assurance policy, effective and efficient monitoring of faculty attendance to lectures, and peer evaluation in the subsequent academic years.

In response, Prof. Ali applauded his predecessor for his immense leadership role in the Directorate of Quality Assurance and promised to continue from where he left off. In order for the Directorate to continue to discharge its mandate, Prof. Ali noted, “we have to make sure that everybody is awake, aware and practicing quality assurance as a culture in the University.” He also highlighted his strategic plan for his tenure of office including his goals, strategies, objectives, action plan priorities, key performance indicators and budgetary allocation of resources.

The vision of the directorate is to provide world-class quality assurance functions to support the University, and ensure that quality and standards of awards are safeguarded, enhanced and effectively managed.
