Professors Anita Berg and Lily Apoh, both of Nord University in Norway paid a working visit to the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho (UHAS) to explore areas of collaboration between both institutions.
Whilst at UHAS, the team conferred with the deans and faculties of School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM), School of Basic and Biomedical Sciences (SBBS), School of Medicine (SOM) and the School of Public Health (SPH). They had very fruitful discussions and overlapping areas of interest were identified. Some specific areas of interest discussed included capacity building, faculty and student exchange programmes as well as co-development of programmes.
The team also met briefly with the Vice Chancellor, Professor John Gyapong during which the Vice Chancellor pledged his support for the development of mutually beneficial programmes for both institutions.
By the time of their departure, a collective decision was taken to commence the preparation of a grant proposal to solicit funding from relevant Norwegian agencies for UHAS programmes.
