Professor Margaret Gyapong, the Director of the Centre for Health Policy and Implementation Research of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho in Ghana is honoured with Heroines of Health Award in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights by GE Healthcare and Women in Global Health, a movement that strives for greater gender equality in global health leadership, committed to change the face of global health for the future and also to help recognize, develop and grow women’s leadership.

One of the strategies aimed at achieving the goals and the aspirations of the movement is ‘sharing the stories of women leading the charge,’ and the award scheme epitomises that.

Professor Margaret Gyapong received the award in Geneva at this year’s World Health Assembly by GE Healthcare and Women in Global Health alongside 12 other women who are all ‘working tirelessly to improve global health with dedication and passion to champion better healthcare for all.
