The Directorate of Quality of Assurance of the University of Health and Allied Sciences hosted the Directorate of Planning and Quality Assurance (DPQA) of Ho Technical University (HTU) in a knowledge sharing session as part of a familiarisation visit of the HTU team to their counterparts at UHAS on July 25, 2023.

Professor Eric Woode, Director of Quality Assurance at UHAS, commended HTU for the initiative which he said, would go a long way to enhance collaboration between the two universities. He stated that Quality Assurance is a serious business which every university should pay critical attention to. He also called on the two universities to continue with these kinds of collaborations to improve each other’s processes and procedures for mutual benefit.

The Acting Director of Planning and Quality Assurance at HTU, Dr. Edward Kwame Ayimey, expressed appreciation to UHAS for hosting his team. He stated that the purpose of the visit was to compare notes on how quality assurance issues are handled by UHAS. It also offers both sides an opportunity to learn from their experiences and improve standards.

Presentations were made by Prof. Woode and the Assistant Registrar at the Directorate, Mr. Hubert Mawuli Yevu-Agbi, on the part of UHAS. Head of Planning of the HTU Directorate of Planning and Quality Assurance, Ms. Oyeba Akyea presented on behalf of the HTU team. These were followed by discussions on the various aspects of the Quality Assurance function.

Other members of the visiting HTU DPQA team were Dr. Kofi Ashiboe Mensah, Head of Quality Assurance; Mr. Simon Whoknows Tunu, Assistant Planning/Quality Assurance Officer; Ms. Antoinette Segbedzi, Assistant Registrar; Mr. Seshi C. Bonuedi, Assistant Planning/Quality Assurance Officer and Mr. Jude K. G. Intsiful, Junior Assistant Planning/Quality Assurance Officer. Also present from UHAS were Ms. Millient Boadiwa-Yirenkyi, Principal Research Assistant and Ms. Judith Emefa Wotortsi, Senior Research Assistant.
