Professor Aziato expressed appreciation to the freshmen for choosing UHAS, saying, “Your decision to pursue studies in health and allied sciences reflects commitment to making a meaningful impact on the well-being of individuals and communities.” She advised the students that the path they have chosen does not only challenge their intellect but also calls upon their compassion, dedication and resilience.

She charged the freshers to abide by the tenets of the Matriculation Oath and be guided by the rules and regulations in the UHAS Student Handbook. As you navigate through your courses, labs and clinical experiences, remember that “success in your studies is not measured by grades but also by the skills you develop, the relationships you build, and the positive impact you make.”

She also called upon the government to address the pressing needs of the University, particularly construction of the road to the Main Campus; completion of the multi-purpose laboratory complex and the GetFund Project at Fodome for Fred N. Binka School of Public Health; and hostel facilities.

Speaking on behalf of the matriculants on the Main Campus, Ms. Mirabel Delanyo Authur of the School of Allied Health Sciences, said that despite their differences, “we stand united by a common goal to pursue knowledge, to stand for excellence and to make a positive impact in the field of health and development in the country and the world at large.” She entreated her colleague freshmen to embrace the journey as they step into the halls of academia and be guided by the spirit of curiosity, exploration and innovation. “Let us dare to dream big, think outside the box and challenge the status quo. For it is through our collective ingenuity and creativity that we will shape a brighter future for generations to come.”

Miss Ruth Larweh spoke for the Binka School freshers. She acknowledged the achievements of the school and highlighted challenges they had already encountered, from small hostel rooms to limited lecture room space. She therefore asked for more assistance to enable efficient learning and teaching.

In attendance were Deans Directors, and other Senior Members.
