Vice Chancellor Prof. Lydia Aziato called on the Mr. Lim Jung-Taek, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ghana, on November 18 to discuss future collaborations in specific areas of academic cooperation and to explore how UHAS could access Korean business opportunities.  The VC was accompanied by Mr. Ofoe Gator Kugblenu of the Public Affairs Directorate, UHAS.

Prof. Aziato stated that the Korean government has been a key partner of the University of Health and Allied Sciences for many years, and the aim of her visit was to strengthen the already existing relationship. She expressed appreciation to the Korean government for its assistance in the areas of ICT, development of human resources, and vocational training. The VC said UHAS is especially grateful to the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) for selecting the university to benefit from the Information Access Center (IAC). She acknowledged the project’s significance to the university, saying, it would serve as a fulcrum point for the development of the university's electronic library programme.

Professor Aziato also extended an invitation to Ambassador Lim Jung-Taek for further engagements with UHAS, and presented him with souvenirs from the university.

The Ambassador acknowledged that although UHAS is among the youngest public universities in Ghana, he was particularly enthused about the university’s achievements. Pledging the embassy’s continuous commitment to UHAS, he indicated his office’s readiness to collaborate with the appropriate Korean organisations to assist UHAS.
