YONSEI-UHAS Project Presents Electronic Devices to SPH-UHAS

The School of Public Health of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, as part of its collaboration with the Yonsei University, South Korea was presented with 15 units of Samsung Galaxy Tablets. This presentation came in handy due to the vital role of technology in research.

Initiated in April, 2017,  the Public Health Educational Capacity Development of University of Health and Allied Sciences (The Yonsei-UHAS partnership project) is a 4-year collaborative project between Yonsei University in South Korea and UHAS in Ghana. The project aims at empowering UHAS to produce outstanding health professionals who can contribute to the academic development and the national policy advancement on healthcare in the Volta Region and in Ghana as a whole. Funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), the project seeks to develop the capacity of faculty of UHAS in teaching and research, remodel the current educational curriculum and reorganize the Vocational Training Practice. The school of Public Health is one of three beneficiary schools for the project in UHAS.

Mr. Hubert Amu, the Project Coordinator for the Yonsei – UHAS Project stated that, the need to acquire these devices became necessary due to the difficulties encountered by personnel during data collection periods as part of the Yonsei – UHAS Project. Moreover,  the project’s Community Health Needs Assessment survey conducted in the second project year used such electronic data capture tools.

Mr. Hong Cheol Park, the Project Leader, who presented the items to the University on behalf of his team advised that, the devises should be used efficiently to improve research findings and bring greater benefits immediately as well as in the future.

DeanYonsheiProfessor Paul Amuna, the Dean of SPH,  expressed gratitude to the Yonsei-UHAS project for its continued support.
