Overview

The IT Infrastructure Department, under the Directorate of ICT, is responsible for the
planning, deployment, operation, and maintenance of the University’s physical and virtual
ICT systems. This includes network architecture, fibre and LAN connectivity, server and data
centre operations, data storage platforms, teaching and learning technologies, and hardware
lifecycle management.
The department ensures stable, secure, and reliable connectivity, as well as high system
availability across all UHAS campuses. Serving as the backbone of academic, administrative,
research, and clinical technology services, our mandate is to provide reliable, secure,
scalable, and innovative ICT infrastructure that supports teaching, learning, research,
healthcare delivery, and institutional administration.

Campus Network Infrastructure

  • High-speed fibre backbone connectivity between campuses
  • Structured LAN and Wi-Fi services
  • IPv4 and IPv6 network architecture
  • Backup connectivity and redundancy systems

 

Data Centre Operations

  • Server infrastructure management
  • Virtualization and storage systems
  • Backup and disaster recovery services
  • Business continuity support

 

Digital Platforms & Power Systems

  • Deployment of innovative power sources, including green energy, to provide
    clean power to all devices and equipment across the University
  • Installation of hardware and supporting power systems

 

Communication & Collaboration Systems

  • VoIP telephony systems
  • Smart classroom technologies
  • Video conferencing platforms
  • IT Helpdesk services

 

Emerging Technologies & Innovation
