It is both a privilege and a call to an endearing duty to lead a Department which integrates the welfare of staff and faculty with HR Information Management. We provide strategic advice on compensation structures, conduct periodic market benchmarking and support management in making equitable and sustainable remuneration decisions.

We administer salaries and benefits with integrity and responsiveness, while leveraging automated HR processes and analytics to strengthen the human resource ecosystem.

About the Compensation and Benefits & HRIS Department

We oversee staff compensation, benefits administration, industrial relations, employee welfare and the management of HR information systems in alignment with University policies and the Public Service HR Framework. We perform these roles, ensuring alignment with the University's strategic objectives

Specifically, the Department performs the following roles:

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary administration and management of staff benefits, including pension schemes.
  • Liaison and engagement with staff unions and associations on employment-related matters.
  • Resolution of employee complaints and grievances in line with university policies
  • Administration and enforcement of conditions of service for all categories of staff.
  • Administration of all categories of leave, including sabbatical, casual, sick, maternity and annual leave.
  • Responsibility of health care and safety matters
  • Management of staff housing matters in accordance with university policies.
