CAPTAIN ROMEO ASUMBASIYA ADUKO
Romeo Asumbasiya Aduko (left) is an alumnus of University of Health and Allied Sciences, graduating in the pioneer year group, 2016. He has been a military officer in the Ghana Armed forces since 2019, and works at 37 Military Hospital as a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist and Medical Laboratory Quality Assurance Officer.
He says, the dream of joining the military was birthed while he was studying at UHAS, and this compelled him to join the university’s Army Medical Cadet.
While at UHAS, Romeo held the following positions: Foundation President, Medical Laboratory Science Students Association, UHAS (2013/2014 and 2014/2015); UHAS SRC Electoral Commissioner (2012/2013 and 2013/2014); and UHAS Alumni Association Vice President (2017 to 2020).
Before attending UHAS, he attended Berekum Demonstration Junior High School and went on to Tamale Senior High School.
Captain Aduko firmly believes that, “As Christians, God should be at the centre of all that we do. Be determined and you can do it. Nothing is too difficult to do. Remember, others did it and so you can even do it better. Don’t let your weakness pin you down. Work to overcome the weakness. If you are a beleiver of the word let Philippians 4:13 guide you.”
LIEUTENANT ELI AGBO
Eli Agbo (above right) is also an alumnus of University of Health and Allied Sciences, having graduated with a Bachelor of Public Health (Disease Control) from the School of Public Health in 2017.
He completed Senior High School at Bishop Herman College, Kpando before enrolling in UHAS. After UHAS, he joined the Ghana Navy in 2019.
Lieutenant Agbo is guided by the knowledge that “Hardwork and determination really do pay off when you have God in your corner. Never forget God in anything you do because our strength is never enough.”
