Report filed by Ofoe Gator Kugblenu, Directorate of Public Affairs.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Lydia Aziato, was honoured on August 16, 2023 with the prestigious Pillar in Tertiary Education award from the West Africa International Press Limited. The award was presented during the annual Pillars of Modern Ghana conference/awards, which recognizes exceptional female Ghanaian personalities and entrepreneurs for their contributions to the country’s growth and development.

At the event, held at the esteemed Holiday Inn in Accra, Professor Lydia Aziato and 50 other notable female personalities and corporate entities were each presented with a plaque and certificate. Ambassador Mrs. Esther Dzifa Ofori, the keynote speaker, boldly stated that “women hold the keys to Ghana’s development.”

The Chair of the Governing Council of Wisconsin International University College, Noble Justice Isaac Duose, congratulated the awardees and expressed his confidence that they would be a guiding light in the country’s developmental agenda.

In attendance at the ceremony were Ms. Yaa Amankwaa Opuni, Registrar; Mrs. Ruth Xola Ayittey, Director of Works and Physical Development; and other university officials.
