On 23rd February 2024, the annual Vice Chancellor’s Woezor Games for first-year UHAS students came off at Dave Campus Sports Park in Ho, and at HEPPS School Park for those on the Hohoe Campus.
Professor Judith Anaman, Director of Student Affairs, represented the Vice Chancellor in Ho. Welcoming the freshers to the Games, she stressed the important role of sports in the wellbeing of the individual.
The various Schools of UHAS competed in several sports such as football, volleyball, chess and handball. The event also featured remarkable talents, including a female playing football among the all-male team representing the School of Sports and Exercise Medicine, and culminated in the School of Nursing and Midwifery winning the tournament and lifting the enviable trophy.
Among the spectators were Professor Dele Oladipo, HoD of Sports and Exercise Medicine; Dr. Olawale Ogundiran, HoD of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences; Mr. Peter Agbezorli, a lecturer at SBBS and a hall tutor; and Mrs. Charity Atteh Osei, School Administrator of SSEM. The programme was put together by Mr. Atiso, Head Coach of UHAS, and his able assistants.
