Israel Tordzro Agudze is an Assistant Registrar and the Head of Teaching and Examinations Unit at the Directorate of Academic Affairs of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Ghana.
Education
He is a Chartered Professional Administrator, with the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants (CIAMC)-Ghana. He holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Theatre Arts, both from the University of Ghana, Legon.
Work Experience
As the Head of Teaching and Examinations Unit, Israel is responsible for coordinating all teaching, learning and examination related activities of the University. This includes but not limited to the adequacy and timely provision of teaching and learning materials, ensuring the readiness of lecture halls with facilities for teaching and learning. He develops the Academic Calendar for each Academic Year and Teaching and Examinations Timetable for each semester in consultation with the Director of Academic Affairs and the Registrar of the University. As part of his roles, Israel coordinates the declaration of University Examination Results by the various schools and facilitates the publication of same to students. He also facilitates the development or new Academic Rules and Policies and review of existing examination rules and regulations and ensures staff and students’ compliance with the Rules and Regulations.
Prior to his current portfolio, Israel was the School Officer for the School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS) of the University from December 2016 to November 2022. He was responsible for providing administrative support to the Dean in particular and the School at large. Since his assumption of office as the School Officer of SAHS, he facilitated timely accreditation of all programmes and the development of seven new ones. He is a member of the Academic Board and serves on other important committees of the School and the University. Prior to his appointment as a Junior Assistant Registrar in the University in 2016, he worked as a Teaching/Research Assistant at the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management of the University of Ghana Business School, Legon from 2014 to 2015. He also worked as a Research/Programme Assistant at the African Humanities Institute of the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), Legon from 2011 to 2015.
Research Interest
His area of research is Performance Management and Policy Implementation, particularly Education Policy.
